About Me

Hello

Thanks for taking the time to learn more about me. With a background in art and design, I’ve spent years building brands for inspiring clients. I enjoy collaborating, working independently, and constantly learning. My work combines psychology-led thinking, real-world experience, and contemporary design to solve complex problems and create impactful, lasting brands.

Outside of work, I’m a parent to two awesome kids and a weekend warrior athlete, striving to live with honesty, care, and a mindset of giving more than I take.

If you want to dive deeper, scroll on for some history.

1997-1999

Growing up in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada I was faced with the usual Hamiltonian career choice of steel factory worker or marketing graphic arts specialist. I was already very naturally into art, design and that crazy new internet thing, so I chose the latter and studied Communications Media & Advertising at a local applied arts college. I graduated with a couple awards and great story of how my “coffee stain” personal brand began. I’ll save that story for later, maybe over a coffee.

2000

Luckily the word did not end with the Y2K bug so I moved to Vancouver to pursue a practicum placement at the trend setting boutique ad agency Cowie and Fox Creative. My work was immediately being approved by their clients so thankfully they hired me on after a few weeks.

I worked on a wide range of client projects and collaborated directly with Chip Wilson to help launch lululemon—pioneering the “yoga wear” category. With Vancouver as the muse, I created disruptive ad campaigns and the iconic manifesto graphic, which became the brand’s core identity and was refined and used across everything for over a decade.

Some other notable projects I worked on were Westbeach, Vancity Credit Union, Greenpeace, David Foster and the launch of the Nike SB shoe line (yes, that’s the SB Dunks).

My work won a few ad industry awards at the time, but most notably I placed second in the Mount Seymour Snowboard Halfpipe Open competition. To the best of my knowledge I was the only competitor with an advertising agency listed as a primary sponsor. 😁

Outside of work I busy was creating and hosting my own art shows and helped form the genre bending indie band Wintermitts.

2010

After a decade of cutting my teeth (they were very sharp at this point) with C&F it was time to move on so I joined a friend’s agency called We The Collective for a few years. Most of the memorable client work was for Nintendo and Levi’s those years.

2012 – 2026

I had already registered my own creative business Caffeine Watermark as side hustle so when the time was right, it became the main hustle. Right now I operate Caffeine Watermark and partner with with FreeBird Agency on a contract basis. I’m currently working on creative with all the of the O2E brands, Breakthrough Academy, Gibbons, Rival Group and much more.
